 | Mission The Teaching Studios of Art’s mission is to train artists in traditional techniques practiced for centuries before the advent of Modernism. We desire to equip students of all ages with the strengths of time-tested techniques. About Us The Teaching Studios of Art provides traditional art courses on Long Island at our Oyster Bay location and in New York City in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. The school began when Rob Zeller started teaching plein-air landscape lessons in Central Park in the fall of 2008. In the winter, when it was too cold to paint outside, Rob began teaching students in his studio. He founded the Teaching Studios of Art a month later, with a concept for a new kind of art school: classical in technique, yet laid back in approach. |
